HATCH Venture Acuva Technologies Wins BCIC Ignite Award

Acuva Technologies has been awarded a 2018 BCIC Ignite Award of $300,000 by the BC Innovation Council, one of four awards given to BC projects that have demonstrated the ability to succeed in environmental engineering, biotechnology, and agriculture.  Award criteria are based on commercial and technical viability as well as the ability to be market ready within three years. Acuva emerged from groundbreaking research done by Chemical and Biological Engineering Professor Fariborz Taghipour on using LED lighting to generate low-power, low-cost ultraviolet light that can be used to disrupt the DNA of bacteria in water. Professor Taghipour and Acuva CEO Manoj Singh talk about Acuva and its underlying technology in this video.
