FOB Access for Faculty, Staff and Appointed Visiting Scholars

Faculty, staff and appointed visiting scholars requiring fob/card access to the ICICS building need to do the following:

  1. Ensure that your home department has added you to the system.
  2. Obtain an access token. You may use either an iClass-enabled UBCcard or a dedicated fob for access. UBCcards are issued by the UBC Carding Office in the UBC Bookstore. Please visit Gable Yeung in the ICICS office (289) to have your card scanned into the access control system. To obtain a fob, please visit ECE Stores in MacLeod 112B with your UBC or government-issued photo I.D. (e.g., passport or driver’s license). A cash deposit of $20.00 is required, refunded when you return your fob.

  3. Have your supervisor / authorizer (an ICICS Member) send an email to access@icics.ubc.ca with your ID number, role name and the specific dates for which you require access. Once fob access is granted, it will take approximately 4 hours for activation to take effect.

If your fob/card is not working correctly, send an email to access@icics.ubc.ca detailing your concerns and we will respond as soon as possible.
