Scott Morgan, co-founder of the HATCH venture Embrace Orthopaedics, has won two silver medals in the team gymnastics competition and a bronze in rings at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, held in Australia from April 4-15. Morgan joined the Canadian national gymnastics team in 2011, and won gold medals in rings and vault, silver in floor, and a bronze in the team competition at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He also was Canada’s only male gymnast in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Morgan maintains a rigorous training schedule, after putting in a full day’s work at Embrace. The company is developing an unobtrusive knee brace that can be integrated into athletic apparel, to replace traditional rigid braces and allow individuals with knee injuries to continue enjoying their sport as they heal. Morgan and his co-founders Zack Eberwein and Cam Massullo are all personally motivated by knee injuries they have suffered themselves.
