Over the past three years, ICICS Director Panos Nasiopoulos has focused on launching large-scale initiatives that benefit the entire ICICS membership. A key component of this effort is building meaningful partnerships with industry, in support of broad-based research projects, professional graduate programs, and other endeavours.
To foster new and deepen existing collaborations with industry, ICICS hosted a networking dinner at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club on November 1, 2012. The dinner was attended by industry decision-makers, ICICS researchers, and high-level UBC personnel. Following the dinner, attendees were informed about new large-scale ICICS initiatives in the areas of digital media and sustainable housing, as well as a new paradigm being developed by ICICS and the University–Industry Liaison Office to streamline how industry does business with UBC.
