Learn about Entrepreneurship with e@UBC

Bringing an innovative idea to entrepreneurial life takes a variety of people and skills. Blair Simonite, Program Director of entrepreneurship@UBC, will be on hand on Monday, April 3 to share some valuable insights on how you can be introduced to the entrepreneurial ecosystem around us, including the HATCH incubator in the ICICS/CS building. Blair will be joined by two highly successful local tech entrepreneurs who are also UBC grads. They  will share their stories and be available for one-on-one chats after the talks:

Amielle Lake: Amielle founded Tagga Media in 2008, a platform to help marketers connect with consumers in an increasingly technology-driven world. Campaign Monitor, an industry leader in email marketing, acquired Tagga in February 2017. Amielle currently sits on the board of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and is an advisor to three start-ups in the Vancouver community. Amielle holds an MBA and is a published author.

Barry Po: Dr. Barry Po is the Senior Director of Product and Business Development at NGRAIN, a 3D and artificial intelligence software company based in Vancouver. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Human-Computer Interaction) from UBC, he has worked at some of the world’s most recognizable brands in 80+ countries. Barry has appeared in various media outlets such as Popular Mechanics and Inc Magazine, mentors budding entrepreneurs, and serves on the advisory boards of several organizations.
