Three established ICICS research clusters are among 38 emerging and established Research Excellence Clusters to receive support from UBC-Vancouver’s Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters (GCRC) competition. Research Excellence Clusters are interdisciplinary networks of researchers addressing societal and cultural problems, and working together to solve challenges that transcend traditional boundaries associated with departments, institutions, and funding agencies.
The three ICICS clusters to receive support are:
- Bionics Network: Lead Karen Cheung, Electrical & Computer Engineering
- Designing for People (DFP): Lead Karon MacLean, Computer Science
- Quantum Computing, Lead: Lukas Chrostowski, Electrical & Computer Engineering
The GCRC was jointly created by the Office of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation and the Office of the Provost & Vice-President, Academic, UBC Vancouver.
