Graduate Student Supported by UBC-Rogers Earthquake Early Warning Project Wins Thesis Competition

ECE Masters Student Ivelina Daiss

Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) masters student Ivelina Daiss feels privileged to work with Professor Jose Marti on the Earthquake Early Warning for the Smart City project supported by the UBC-Rogers partnership. Read about the perspective Ivelina has gained as a result of working on this UBC-industry collaboration that will benefit society. Aside from helping her map out her future, the experience has taught Ivelina how to communicate the essence of her research to a non-specialist audience, which she proved recently as a winner in her department’s 3-Minute Thesis competition.
